Icon For Hire - Amorphous

If you like Icon for Hire you probably trust these guys to deliver what they promise. The album is awesome and the communication around the delivery delays was good as well. When you really have passion for your project it (almost) can't fail.

Years ago (when iTunes was an easy way to legally acquire tracks in a reasonably easy way) I stumbled upon Icon for Hire with their album Scripted. I played it quite a lot and be repetition I learned most of the lyrics. While I don't listen to that specific album a lot it will always have a special place in my heart. The releases that Icon made after that, however, weren't really my cup of tea.

When Ariel mentioned that this would bring back some Scripted vibes I therefore wanted to be part of the movement to make this happen! And I knew that she and Shawn would be able to deliver.

I backed the vinyl since I do have a record player and every now and then I do sit down to listen to a record. Normally I will stream music and if I build up a connection with some of the songs on the album I will consider purchasing the vinyl. In this case I went out on a limb and went with the vinyl straight away. And I'm very happy I did!

As mentioned in the summary I was very confident that Ariel and Shawn would be able to deliver what they envisioned. Because they have released music together and Shawn has a studio at home there weren't a lot of external depencencies. The whole crowdfunding thing of course was new to them but they handled it brilliantly! Hats off to them on delivering an AWESOME album that so far also has had me captivated throughout the whole thing. I absolutely love it. Even more than I loved Scripted.
